The Central Connecticut Chapter will be holding our Monthly Meeting on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Sal’s Family Pizza (630 Main St, Monroe, CT). The meeting will begin at 6pm. Please RSVP to this email (info@centralctsci.org) by Saturday, January 24 so that we can provide the restaurant an appropriate headcount.
We are extremely excited to announce that we will have two special guests in attendance to speak to our membership:
Johnny du Plooy: 2026 SCI Professional Hunter of the Year will be giving a brief presentation on dangerous game hunting in the Luangwa Valley of Zambia. Chapter President Brandon Gleason and Board Member James Burdacki both completed a hunt with Johnny this fall. Johnny is an engaging and entertaining storyteller with decades of dangerous game hunting experience.
Laura du Plooy: Chapter President of the newly formed Zambian Chapter will be presenting on their formation and growth, as well as goals heading into 2026. This is a great opportunity to hear about how Chapter network growth can have positive impacts on community and conservation in conjunction with hunting partners. Laura was instrumented in coordinating the Stop-The-Bleed programs our Chapter delivered to Zambian PH’s and Wildife Police Officers in November 2025.
More information will be available at the meeting regarding our 2026 Fundraiser Banquet, scheduled for March 21, 2026 at Woodwinds in Branford, CT. Planning is underway, and interested members who wish to help or have new items they would like to donate for our auction should contact Gregory Buonocore.
